Mining Division - Locations

The mines of Essel Mining & Industries Limited (EMIL) are located in the mineral rich Barbil-Barajamda belt in the Keonjhar and Sundergarh districts of Odisha. Our four operative mines include the Jilling Langalota Iron and Manganese Mines, the Kasia Iron and Dolomite Mines, the Koira Iron Mines and the Unchabali Iron and Manganese Mines.

Commissioned in 1955, the Kasia Mines are noted for their superior quality (63.5 per cent Fe content) iron ore. The entire lease area of the Kasia Mines is 194.196 hectares, of which 51.784 hectares has been declared as EOU. The Koira Mines are one of the largest mines in the Sundargarh district. Commissioned in January 1971, they meet the increasing demand for iron ore in India.

Commissioned in 1954 at Barbil, the Jilling Langalota Mines serve both the global and domestic markets.

All of our mines follow Total Quality Management and world class manufacturing processes in all their operations.
